2019.

One of the basic human needs is food. We need to eat. In order to feed ourselves, we need to grow crops. To grow enough crops we need a lot of space for fields. In geography classes, we were taught to read lakes, mountains, rivers, etc. on maps. For cities, we have always used a dot with the name. As children, this is how we imagined the world. Lately I had the opportunity to fly a lot and the landscapes I saw made me uncomfortable. There was no forest anywhere in sight. Everywhere I looked I could only see fields and concrete buildings. That got me interested in looking at satellite images of our planet (Europe mostly and parts of Asia) and the scene was the same, fields and concrete blocks everywhere, only small green strips between the fields representing forests... My work represents our need for food, a landscape that we created. As you cross it, in some places that represent lakes and forests, you can feel the clay figurines of animals and plants crumble under your feet.
